That’s the way to do it

Christmas is approaching fast and in the UK Legoland in Windsor, has completed its Christmas tree this week, using 300,000 Lego bricks it is almost eight metres high.

Building the tree with the right equipment

The erection and topping out was completed with two aerial work platforms in what looks like a textbook example of good practice. Those using the trailer lift and self-propelled boom all wore harnesses and short lanyards, and mats were used under the trailer lift’s outriggers.

A trailer lift was also employed

The tree took six modellers four weeks to build with some specially coloured bricks to help with the realism. Even the star on the top is made from bricks – 2,790 of them. The tree is not the largest ever built, one erected in London’s St Pancras Station in 2011 was over 12 metres high.
