New Manitou mast boom for Oz

Manitou is launching a new version of its 10 metre mast boom aimed at the Australian market.

The new lift – the 100VJR Aus – will replace the existing model in order to fully comply with the latest Australian standards, rather than wait for the machine’s current certification approval to expire.

The unit combines the slightly wider ANSI chassis for the USA, with the European CE superstructure. The net result is a machine with a 100mm wider base, giving an overall width of 1.1 metres.

One advantage of the change is that the new machine will have a full two man, 200kg platform capacity for both indoor and outdoor duties, rather than a limited one man outdoor rating. The new unit also includes the CE built in overload cut out device.

Manitou Australia has also announced the appointment of Kookaburra Equipment Sales as a national dealer for its aerial lift range. Kookaburra, which is owned by Rick Mustillo of IPS, has a non-exclusive distribution agreement for the Maniaccess range. Manitou’s telehandler dealer network will also continue to sell access products and will also provide product support for all machines.

Manitou says that it is already taking orders for the new model, with first deliveries expected to arrive in Australia in February.
