Lifterz Cranes to liquidate

UK crane rental company Lifterz Cranes has been placed into voluntary liquidation.

The Lifterz Cranes division was established in 2012 after LSG Industrials acquired the south west crane operations of Toby Taylor and Miles Barker in the Plymouth area.

Having already acquired a controlling interesting in UK powered access company Lifterz, it decided to make the Plymouth crane operation a 'sister' company and it adopted the Lifterz brand crane name and continued to run a small fleet of All Terrains and spider cranes. Lifterz access then also moved aerial lifts into the Plymouth location.

The company said: "The management backed investment got off to a very bad start right from the beginning, with the original management being removed early on. Having considered all opportunities and having held discussions with various parties, the directors decided that a voluntary winding up was the only route for the company. The cranes will be sold off at auction at a future date to be confirmed.”

LSG Industrials’ managing director Patrick Leoni Sceti, said: “We have done all that we could to keep the business running but in the end we have taken the decision to focus our efforts on other parts of the group, which continue to deliver outstanding performance. We have appointed a liquidator and we are sad to say that the staff will be leaving this week.”

Lifterz and LSG chairman Malcolm Bowers, added: “LSG Industrials also holds shares in Lifterz, but this business closure does not affect this company. Lifterz continues to thrive, producing excellent numbers every single month.”
