IMES appoints business manager

Scottish marine and subsea inspection company IMES has appointed Ewan Giles as business development manager.

Based at the company’s headquarters in Aberdeen, Scotland, Giles will be responsible for driving growth by promoting its UK-wide capabilities. Giles has joined IMES from oilfield equipment rental provider Airpac Bukom, where he was customer support manager. Prior to that, he worked as the general manager for CheckPoint Pumps & Systems and as UK sales and marketing manager for engineering consultancy Prospect.

Jason Smith, chief operating officer at IMES, said: “Ewan has previously held key roles at oilfield supply companies and engineering consultancy businesses. With almost 10 years of oil and gas sales experience, his time in consultancy will be invaluable to the company plans.”

IMES provides inspection services, engineering consultancy and bespoke load measurement products, to improve safe operation of cranes, lifting gear and other specialised structures. It is also the distributor for Viper and NDT Technologies wire rope inspection and lubrication products.
