A close call

A reader in the UK has sent in a picture of an All Terrain crane working dangerously close to passing traffic on a busy motorway.

The crane was reportedly carrying out a lift on the M1 motorway, which had closed two lanes with the use of cones. That being said, the crane’s counterweight still looks dangerously close to interfering with the adjacent lane where high-sided trucks were passing. Although speed restrictions would have been in place - one assumes - all it would take is a momentary lapse in concentration from the driver for this to result in fatal consequences.

As far as we know, the crane completed the lift without any problems, but even so it still qualifies as a Death Wish.

What people don't realize is that the cones to cordon off the traffic are magic cones. These ones can stop a 44 ton articulated lorry
