Loader crane thief electrocuted

A man who is believed to have stolen a truck and loader crane was found electrocuted early this morning in Marsden Park, Sydney, Australia.

The police were informed of an abandoned truck, when they checked it out they noticed that the boom was in contact with some live overhead power lines and a man was lying on the ground next to the control station.
Paramedics had to wait for the lines to be deactivated before they could help the man. When they did it was too late. The crane itself was still functioning and perfectly operational.

Police are investigating the incident, but now believe that the truck is one that was stolen earlier this week and it is believed that the dead man was driving the truck with the boom elevated and got the boom caught up in the power lines. When he jumped out of the cab the current ran through him to earth.
