And the award goes to...

A reader has sent in a picture of American actor Sean Penn who had to be rescued from a boom lift in Cape Town, South Africa, during the shooting of his latest film – The Last Face.

The boom lift was being used by Penn and an operator to spray paint a backdrop being used on set, although neither are wearing a harness or lanyard. Penn is then seen climbing through the platforms guardrails in order to get a better reach. It is possible this is what caused the platform to cut out? A second boom lift was used to bring him down.

It’s possible Penn does win the award for the most famous death wish to date – although it’s unlikely it will be on show next to his two Oscars!
