Terex Utilities appoints UK distributor

Kettering-based Cumberland Platforms has been appointed the Terex Utilities distributor for the UK and Ireland.

The company is now responsible for the entire range of Terex Utilities equipment, including its truck mounted platforms, digger derricks and auger drills. It will offer a full sales, rental, service, installation, parts and financing service.

Ron Norris, Terex Utilities vice president international sales, said: “With the region’s utility fleets aging, and the growing popularity of hot line work in Europe due to the ever-increasing pressure to ‘keep the lights on’ during maintenance of existing lines, we are excited to work closely with CPL on an approach to better serving this market".

"CPL will take on the service network Terex already has in place in the area, adding to its own existing operations. In addition to carrying the entire line of Terex Utilities products, they will also do installations to match chassis specifications for specific applications.”

Cumberland managing director Paul Murphy, added: “Finding the right access vehicle for the job should be easy and convenient. At CPL, we understand that our customers have tight deadlines and strict budgets to work within so we work closely with them, as well as our suppliers like Terex, to make sure we are supplying the right equipment to meet their needs. Our direction is to become the UK's main supplier of insulated utility and tree care equipment, including aerial devices, digger derricks and auger drills, and we feel that Terex is the most flexible and proactive insulated manufacturer in this section.”
