Man ejected from platform

A man had to be rescued from the top of a high sided truck after he was ejected from the platform of a bucket truck in Toronto, Canada yesterday.

The man, Sheldon Chai, is said to be in his 40’s and is apparently an employee of the City of Toronto. He was working on a set of traffic lights over the busy road at the time, when his platform was clipped by the trailer of a passing truck. He was ejected from the platform and fortunately landed on the top of the truck that had hit him.

The emergency services rescued him and he was taken to hospital with broken bones, but his injuries are said to be non life threatening. The Ministry of Labour is investigating.
