Four Falcons for Casablanca

TCA has delivered four 29 metre Falcon FS290 Spider lifts to the King Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. The new machines will be used for indoor as well as outdoor maintenance work on the mosque.

The four TCA Falcon FS290s

The mosque, which was designed by the French architect Michel Pinseau, is the largest in Africa and the seventh largest in the world, it is topped by a soaring 210 metre minaret, which shines a laser beam towards Mecca by night. The elaborate decoration of the prayer hall, is also a striking feature of the mosque. The ceilings are carved in cedar and the doors are forged in gold and decorated with turquoise, red and cobalt paint.

The interior of the mosque has a delicate mosaic floor

TCA sales manager Brian Falck Schmidt said: “The Falcons were chosen due to their unique performance, including their dual power system and the double jib which really comes to its own in this amazing and huge building. The Falcon’s low ground pressures was also a reason for the selection of these units. The floor is made up of a vast mosaic, which the Falcon’s can travel over and work from without fear of causing any damage.
