Second TPS harbour crane for Lehmann

German shipping and port operations company Hans Lehmann has placed an order for a second Gottwald HMK 5506 mobile harbour crane.

The company took delivery of the same model, along with three reach stackers, last year for its new cargo terminal on the north bank of the River Trave – see: Terex Port Solutions for Germany. Launched in 2013, the diesel/electric drive G HMK 5506 has a 125 tonne maximum lift capacity and a maximum radius of 51 metres.

Hans Lehmann’s managing director Holger Lehmann said: “Both the first Terex Gottwald Model 5 mobile harbour crane and the three Terex reach stackers have more than fulfilled our expectations in their first few months. All the machines contribute to improving our performance in container handling and in handling heavy and bulky project cargo. So it is a logical decision to opt for TPS, also with a view to a further expansion of capacities.”

Based in Lübeck, the family-owned company was originally established as Lübecker Stauereikontor (Lübeck Stevedore Company) in 1926. It has since expanded its operations to include a range of port-related services at its four terminals, which include port operations, ready-mixed concrete, building materials and fuel trade.
