SX-180 for Schickling

German access rental company Schickling Arbeitsbühnen has taken delivery of the first 180ft Genie SX-180 boom lift in Germany.

The SX-180, first seen as a prototype at Bauma 2013, features a five section main boom with 360 degree continuous slew plus a 3.05 metre articulating jib with 160 degree basket rotation. The jib has 60 degrees horizontal and 135 degrees vertical rotation. Maximum outreach is 24.4 metres with a maximum platform capacity of 340kg.

Explaining his decision to purchase the SX-180, company owner Elmar Schickling said: “First and foremost were the compact machine dimensions, which allows us to transport the SX-180 on our standard flatbed trailer without special permits for excess width or height and without a support vehicle. We can transport the machine on public roads during the day, instead of being restricted to night movements.”
