1,000th Terex straddle carrier

German container terminal operator North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven (NTB) has taken delivery of the 1,000th Terex diesel-electric straddle carrier manufactured at Terex Port Solutions’ facility in Würzburg.

The 1,000th machine is part of an order for 30 Terex NSC 644 E straddle carriers which are able to stack 60 tonne, 2.6 metre high containers one-over-three. They will join an existing fleet of 75 straddle carries at NTB’s North Sea terminal.

NTB managing director Jan Gelderland, said: “These highly efficient straddle carriers have supported us in the terminal almost from the start in 1998. And thanks to their ease of operation, good performance and reliability, they provide lasting competitive advantages. We are therefore delighted to welcome a genuine landmark machine from Würzburg to our fleet.”
