Popping up higher

A couple of men spotted in London’s King Cross station earlier this week using a push around lift that was simply not high enough.

Work at height in Kings Cross London

The men are clearly safety conscious or obliged to seem to be safety conscious, with all their PPE gear – including hard hats, some excellent pedestrian fencing off and the fact that they have an aerial lift to carry out the work. How sad then that the job had not been planned sufficiently to specify a slightly higher machine. The man doing the work did what many would have done, and stood on the mid-rail to get the job done.

Standing on the midrail

He could though have ended up on the floor had he slipped or worse still if he had pushed too hard and overturned the machine from his higher position.

While nowhere near one our worst cases it still qualifies for our Death Wish series.
