Tree fells platform

A man has been seriously injured after falling from an aerial lift while cutting a tree in Crossett, Arkansas last week.

The man Mitch West, 50, owner of Top Branch Tree Service was taking the top off of a larger tree, when it went the wrong way and struck the platform he was working from – an Altec over-centre device the company owns - with such force that it detached the fibreglass bucket from the boom causing him to fall around six metres to the ground.

He was airlifted to hospital and as far as we understand in stable condition.
