UPA takes UK-first in large order

UK based access rental company United Powered Access (UPA) has ordered a further 58 new boom scissor lifts – including the first six Skyjack SJ6832RTE compact hybrid Rough Terrain scissor lifts in the UK.

The order of 50 Skyjack machines mostly comprises of compact and mid-range electric scissors as well as six of Skyjack’s latest SJ6832RTE hybrid scissor lifts. Sharing similar performance and specifications to the diesel powered version, the SJ6832RTE offers a maximum working height of 11.75 metres and a platform capacity of 454kg.

Its overall dimensions are 1.7 metres wide by 2.7 metres long and features a 2.5 metre platform – extending to four metres when the 1.5 metre extension is rolled out. The manufacturer says the SJ6832RTE is the only machine in its category with four-wheel drive and 45 percent gradeability as standard and provides end users with a zero emission scissor lift built with the low running costs and high up time.

UPA has also placed an order for eight Niftylift machines which includes further HR17 and HR21 Hybrid boom lifts along with HR12 diesel boom lifts fitted with battery packs for electric use when required. All machines have been fitted with Niftylift’s tough cage technology and SIOPs operator systems.

Established by Greg Miller at the beginning of 2013, the Lymm, Cheshire-based company is owned by the CA Group, one of the UK’s leading metal roofing and cladding system manufacturers. This latest order takes UPA's operating fleet to 149 Skyjack scissor lifts and 41 Niftylift boom lifts, offering a total of 22 different types of aerial work platforms.
