Shipyard inaugurates new crane

International Ship Repair & Marine Services of Tampa, Florida has celebrated the delivery of its new 250 tonne Manitowoc 999 crawler crane with a dedication ceremony naming it “Ms. Kaitlyn.” The event included speeches from congress-woman Kathy Castor and senator Bill Nelson.

The purchase was made possible through a grant from the U.S. department of Transportation Maritime Administration. One of 12 shipyards to receive a grant through the department’s Small Shipyard Grant Programme. In all, some $9.46 million was awarded.
