Big articulated crane overturn
A larger articulated crane overturned this morning in Dietikon, near Zurich in Switzerland after an outrigger gave way.
It looks as though the ground might have shifted and caused the outrigger beam to give way at the point where it supports the jack, causing the overturn.

The rear outrigger appears to have failed
The crane – an Effer 2655 7S + Jib 6S + Jib 3S owned by local company Müller Dietikon, was working with almost all of its long boom and telescopic jib extended and was short rigged on the back end, however it was one of the fully extended outriggers that failed.

The crane's front outrigger came back down into the back of a pick up truck
This is second big Effer to fail in this way in Switzerland in less than 10 months,

I think the stabilizer vertical leg-lock is broken. You can see the leg is cut-off the outrigger. For transport they move 180° up.
The swing radius of this legs is in drive line.
so when you use your crane backwards with shocks, the force on this lockpin can be to much.

It appears as though no stabilizer packing was used, although there was plenty supplied on the back of the truck.
