Buckhurst takes 100 JCB telehandlers

Lancashire, UK, based Buckhurst Specialist Plant has ordered more than £6.5 million worth of JCB equipment including 100 JCB telescopic handlers.

The 100 519 telescopic handlers range from five to 20 metres lift heights. All the machines apart from several 520-50 Agri are powered by JCB’s EcoMAX Stage IIIB/Tier 4 Interim diesel engine which offers six percent more torque than the previous model but uses up to nine percent less fuel. Buckhurst now has a fleet of 2,000 machines with depots in Lancashire, Leeds, West Lothian and a brand new depot in Aberdeen.

Buckhurst Specialist Plant chairman, John Walsh said: “We feel it is the right time to make this sizeable investment and capitalise on the definite upturn we have seen in ground works projects as more and more new build sites appear. The new machines expand our nationwide fleet and will also increase our presence in the Scottish Highlands – stocking our recently opened a site in Aberdeen.

“Nothing can compete with JCB on reliability or resale value so the total cost of ownership is low. Fuel economy is also a major factor for our customers so the new JCB T4i EcoMAX engines on all these machines will be a real selling point. The Loadalls ensure we have a modern fleet with the latest innovations.

“We are one of the few companies in our sector to have ridden the storm and actually grown over the last five years - by guaranteeing our customers great service along with reliable, state-of-the-art equipment. This order for the latest JCB technology will only help reinforce that promise.”
