Hiab cranes for Australian Army

Hiab has received an order for 237 Hiab H099ATD-2 loader cranes and 559 Multilift demountable truck body systems from Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles, for a contract it has with the Australian Defence Forces.

The deal worth is over €40 million to Hiab and forms a part of a programme of vehicles to be supplied to the Australian Defence Force for project "Land 121" (Phase 3B). The deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2016, with the contract due for completion in 2020.

The Hiab, H099ATD-2 are special low built cranes designed to allow the vehicle to be transported in its standard configuration by air, rail, sea or road.

The Multilift MHS165SC demountable system specified by the end user, enables handling of a variety of different beds adapted to transport water, fuel and other supplies. The system will also include a Container Handling Unit that enables handling of standard 20ft containers.
