Big Skyjack telehandlers for Coastline

California based Coastline Equipment has purchased three 9,000kg/13.6 metre Skyjack ZB2044 telehandlers

The new telehandlers incorporate an improved specification and Tier 4 Interim compliant engines. The first unit was delivered in March, with the remaining two due to be shipped in May and later this summer.

Established in 1984, Coastline Equipment sells and rents machines from seven locations in Long Beach, Santa Ana, Oxnard, Sylmar, Santa Maria, Sacramento and Bakersfield. The company will use the new telehandlers for work previously carried out with cranes.

Terisa McConnell, Coastline Equipment Crane branch manager said: “The order for 2014 was primarily for the Tier-4 Interim engines. We have a lot of government jobs we are bidding on that require the Tier-4 engines and we needed the telehandlers for that. The order will keep our rental fleet young and reliable. Most of our fleet feature Tier 3 engines, so we’ll phase out some of our older equipment as the new ones come in.”

Craig Truscelli, Skyjack territory manager for Northern California and Nevada, added: “For Coastline, the ZB2044 is a perfect niche machine. Although the 20,000 lb capacity and maximum height statistics are noteworthy, its strength is in the load chart, with outriggers deployed it can lift 12,000lbs to full height and 7,000lbs at its maximum reach. This is almost crane like performance. Coastline does a lot of crane work, but in many situations the telehandler is a more flexible solution.”
