Special Valla for Hird

Italian crane manufacturer Valla has supplied the UK's Hird Group with a special version of the 18 tonne capacity Valla 180ES. The crane will enter the Hird rental fleet for machine moving contracts.

Based on the Valla 180E the 180ES features a new and improved fully hydraulic telescopic 13 metre boom, which can be extended to 16 metres with a hydraulic fly jib that luffs to 40 degrees. The maximum radius with main boom is 10 metres, at which point it is capable of lifting 1,500kg.

Valla Cranes has supplied the Hird Group with a special version of the 18 tonne capacity Valla 180ES.

Managing director Philip Hird, who worked with Valla on the design and specifications for the 180ES, said: “Manual handling is a major problem within industry today and the Valla 180ES has been designed with this in mind. The idea was to have one crane to cover all requirement’s and assist both the end user and our own workforce to eliminate all manual handling.”

The new and improved fully hydraulic telescoping boom gives an overall, boom height of 13 metres and 16 metres with the 40 degree hydraulic fly jib.
