Wagstaff takes GMK6300L

US crane rental company Wagstaff took delivery of the 300 tonne Grove GMK6300L All Terrain crane that featured on Manitowoc’s stand at this year’s Conexpo.

Purchased through Manitowoc dealer H&E Equipment, the six-axle GMK6300L features a seven section 80 metre main boom and 29 metre bi-fold swingaway extension which provides a 112 metre maximum tip height. The lifting capacity with full boom and counterweight is 12 tonnes at 12 metres radius and two tonnes capacity at 74 metres. Maximum counterweight is 92.5 tonnes with numerous configurations down to seven tonnes.

Wagstaff project manager Ron Wagstaff said: “We purchased the GMK6300L because it will save both us and our customers’ time and money. For many demanding lifts with long reaches, we spend a fair amount of time rigging a jib for our Grove GMK5275 and GMK7550. But with the long boom and high capacity of the GMK6300L, especially on projects where there is just one lift, such as with heating, ventilating, and air conditioning we can cut setup times in half.”
