Liebherr straddle carriers for ECT

Dutch container terminal operator ECT Delta Terminal has taken delivery of seven Liebherr straddle carriers for its deep-water terminal in Rotterdam.

The 40 tonne carriers are fitted with the company’s Stinis twin lift spreader and have the ability to lift one container over the top of two containers. They have also been fitted with a remote positional tracking system.

Paul Bolger, product manager for Liebherr Container Cranes, said: “The purchase of Liebherr straddle carriers by ECT illustrates our capacity to deliver a cost effective state of the art product with the ability to work in the world’s most advanced facilities.”
