MacGregor takes Eastern orders

South Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries has placed an order for two MacGregor active heave-compensated (AHC) subsea cranes.

The 100 tonne and 25 tonne subsea cranes will be fitted on board a new 160 metre heavy construction vessel which is being built for UK offshore specialist Subsea 7. They will be used to support the vessel's year-round global deployment in deepwater offshore construction operations. Delivery is scheduled for July 2015.

MacGregor has also received an order for a 100 tonne AHC subsea crane from Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry, the subsidiary of one of China’s largest shipbuilders China Shipbuilding Industry. The crane will be installed on the anchor handling tug supply vessel and used in offshore areas offshore areas such as Brazil, West Africa, the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea.
