Ainscough goes for Turnkey Brakesafe
UK based Ainscough Crane Hire has purchased Turnkey’s Brakesafe portable brake testing equipment to use with its fleet.
Unlike traditional rolling road testing equipment the Brakesafe is a portable device that is simply placed in the passenger footwell of a vehicle. It is then able to measure the braking efficiency and any left/right pull without having to connect it to further devices.

The Brakesafe portable tester
The tester simply drives the vehicle at a constant speed and then applies the brakes in an emergency stop procedure. The device senses when the test is complete and gives an immediate pass/fail indication. It also stores the data for print outs or downloading.
Ainscough has purchased the device after trialling it at a number of its depots, it will now be used across its fleet.
Just a note for those of you who are looking at these systems, we use the Bowmonk Brake Check system which we have also found to be very good. However you do need access to a long straight level piece of road or perhaps a runway before adopting these systems!
