Fatal boom bus incident

The operator of a large boom lift has died after his platform was struck by a bus in Los Angeles yesterday.

The incident occurred downtown, near the L.A. Convention Centre, where the man, 56, was apparently working at a height of around four metres above the ground and was projecting over the traffic lanes when it was struck by the Metro bus.

We understand that he was catapulted out of the platform, but do not have any specifics. No one else was hurt in the incident
