IMC Merwede orders MacGregor

Dutch dredging, mining vessels and equipment specialist IMC Merwede has placed an order for six MacGregor active heave-compensated (AHC) subsea cranes in an order worth €23 million.

A vessel fitted with two MacGregor ACH subsea cranes


Each of the three pipe-laying ships, owned by UK offshore specialist Subsea 7, will be fitted with a 100 tonne and 25 tonne MacGregor AHC subsea crane designed to operate at depths of 3,500 metres and 3,000 metres respectively. Delivery is planned for the second half of 2015.
