M1 fire recovery

We have received photographs of the recovery of the Spierings crane that caught fire on Monday - see: Crane Fire.
The crane a five axle Spierings SK599 with a total weight of 60 tonnes is owned by Yorkshire based Millington Crane Services. It was raised in a tandem lift by a six axle Terex AC200/P and Terex AC100/4 both supplied by McGovern Crane Hire.

The crane was burnt so badly that even using a power pack the team was unable extend the outriggers to help with slinging, so slings had to go under the machine and spreader beams used. The crane was then lifted onto a low loader.

By the look of it the chances of an economic repair look remote.
