IPAF launches campaign in Singapore

The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) has launched its ‘Clunk Click’ harness/lanyard campaign in Singapore.

Supported by Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and its Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) council, the campaign which has gone global, following its initial launch in the UK, calls for users of boom type platforms to wear a full body harness with a short restraint lanyard attached to a suitable anchor point. The association is also distributing its “Are you trained?” stickers which highlight the need for training when operating any type of aerial work platform.

Raymond Wat, IPAF regional manager South East Asia, said: “Despite active publicity, there are still people out there who do not put on a harness in a boom-type platform and who risk being catapulted out in the event of an accident. IPAF and its members are committed to bring this awareness to all users.”
