LTS boosts fleet and relocates

UK rental company LTS Powered Access has moved to new premises and taken delivery of more Niftylifts.

The new premises for the London based company are a mile from the previous location which it shared with London Tower Service. Located just off the A406 (North Circular) in Barking, the premises were previously the home of Mitie Powered Access, then the Platform Company, and more recently Nationwide Platforms.

The facilities are located on a half acre plot, with a 550 square metre warehouse and separate offices, as opposed to 460 square metres at its previous location.

Director Paul Fairhall said: “This is a fantastic move, immediately providing us with more space to quickly clean and repair equipment, and optimise our stock. In our first full month of trading at these new premises, we had an increase of over 20 percent in terms of hire revenue, solely by having more of our equipment available for hire. But more importantly, it will allow us to significantly grow our business."

"We have already ordered an additional 28 tonne delivery vehicle, and started taking delivery of an initial £500,000 order with Niftylift. This order includes trailer mounted lifts, HR12/15/17 self-propelled booms, and the new 28 metre working height HR28 articulated boom lift.”

“We tend to invest solely in the Niftylift booms, as they offer the lowest weight, with the largest working envelope. Another key factor is their inbuilt safety and innovations, such as SIOPS and Hybrid technology. And they’re made in Britain. We have highlighted older machines with a view to replacing all electric machines over five years old, together with a planned investment over the next 18 months of an additional £1.5 million, with the aim of taking us to around 550 machines.”

London Tower Service will remain at the Beckton location, with the unit vacated by LTS Powered Access being used as a training centre, providing two training rooms, and the warehouse area for the IPAF/PASMA practical training sessions.
