Sauer becomes Danfoss

The Hydraulic and electronic systems and component manufacturer Sauer-Danfoss is changing its name to Danfoss, following the Danfoss group’s acquisition of all remaining Sauer-Danfoss shares earlier this year from Sauer Holding.

Operating as Danfoss Power Solutions the company said it will continue to provide mobile hydraulic solutions and that customers will be able to work with their existing contacts on new and ongoing product development projects.

Sauer-Danfoss chief executive Eric Alström, who continues to lead the renamed business, said: “By joining Danfoss, we become part of one strong global brand with a high level of commitment to research and development. This will drive innovation forward and allow us to stay focused on serving our customers. The merger also ensures our customers a high degree of continuity. Danfoss has had a long-standing relationship with Sauer-Danfoss through its board-level involvement, and has helped shape our existing strategy that we will continue to pursue.”

Employing over 23,000 people worldwide, the Danfoss group manufactures electronics for a range of products including refrigeration and air conditioning controls, power electronics, heating, and mobile hydraulics.
