Another tree / crane incident

A boom truck overturned and landed on the garage of a home in the Detroit suburb of Royal Oak, Michigan, yesterday while trying to lift a tree from the rear of the house. The incident also cut off power to almost 1,000 homes in the area.

The crane tipped, but the operator remained in his cab

The crane, a National Crane, operating with an almost fully extended main boom, was lifting down chunks of a large silver maple tree as they were cut from the tree, when - according to the homeowner - it was ‘given’ a segment that was too heavy and over it went. No one was inside the building and neither the crane operator or anyone else was hurt in the incident.
