Four crane order for TTS

TTS Offshore Handling Equipment of Norway has won a NK120 million ($20 million) contract from Daewoo Shipbuilding of Korea for the supply of four large knuckle boom offshore cranes.

The deal also includes additional equipment for riser handling and pipe handling for the Palladium Explorer drill-ship ordered by Vantage Drilling Company. The contract comprises three further options for delivery of identical equipment, with delivery planned during the third quarter of 2014.

Three of the cranes offer a 100 tonne maximum capacity at 22 metres radius, while the fourth can handle 165 tonnes at up to 17 metres.

TTS Group chief executive Johannes Neteland said: “After being awarded a similar contract from STX Offshore & Shipbuilding in November 2012, this contract represents a final breakthrough in a very interesting and significant market segment. We have pursued prospects within this segment for a long time, and this contract enhances our position within offshore load handling.”
