Qube makes it four

Australian container handling and port logistics company Qube Ports & Bulk has placed an order for a further LHM 280 mobile harbour crane following the delivery of three LHM 280s.

The first LHM 280 has been commissioned in Geraldton, Western Australia, where it is being used in conjunction with Qube Ports’ container spreader system Rotabox which is able to lift and rotate a container a full 180 degrees in order to dump its load.

Todd Emmert, director of Qube Bulks in Perth said: “The Geraldton crane is now fully operational and has delivered the promised productivity gains anticipated to support the investment. I’ve known Liebherr for a long time in various ports in Australia, and their machines are always a welcome addition to our operation. The local service through Morrow Equipment means we have an excellent combination of machine and support.”

Liebherr has also delivered two LHM 550s and a LHM 420 mobile harbour crane to terminal operator Patrick Stevedoring based in Henderson, Western Australia.
