Gary ‘Grumpy’ Avery R.I.P

Gary ‘Grumpy’ Avery a well-known CraneSafe endorsed assessor, based in Victoria, Australia has died following a long illness.

Avery was one of the first CraneSafe assessors and was well respected in the industry, he retired at the end of last year and died in hospital on July 18th. He leaves behind wife Marian and children Darren and Andrew.

In the words of the Crane Industry Council of Australia: “Grumpy was well-known and much respected in the industry and was a great ally of CICA and a wonderful ambassador for the CraneSafe programme. Grumpy was one of the program’s first assessors and retired as an assessor on 31st December, 2012.
His crane expertise, friendly and at times ‘grumpy’ persona will be sadly missed by his many colleagues and friends.”
