Crushing incident in Florida

A man has died following a crushing incident with a boom lift in Sarasota, Florida, last week.

The man, Mitch Phelps, 55, was working in the platform alone at a height of around seven to eight metres, painting the outside of the Sarasota Military Academy in the city. He was found by two colleagues, who were able to lower the platform to the ground and administer CPR. He was taken to hospital unconscious and was pronounced dead on arrival.
