BigLift christens heavy lift vessel

BigLift has celebrated the christening of its new heavy lift vessel Happy Sky, at Huisman’s new quay in Zhangzhou, China.

Built by Indian engineering, construction and manufacturing company Larsen & Toubro the company’s new flagship vessel features two 900 tonne Huisman mast cranes offering a lift height above deck of 40.9 metres. The company claims that the vessel has an unmatched lifting height in the world fleet of heavy lift vessels and that the crane pedestals on the Happy Sky were made an additional four metres higher than originally planned in response to market demand.
