Crane fire closes road

A mobile crane caught fire yesterday near Penrith, Cumbria, in the UK causing a major road closure.

The crane was travelling on the A66 road when it caught fire and burnt to a level that will probably result in it being scrapped. At this stage we understand that the unit is a Mammoet UK crane, but have no idea yet what caused the fire. We understand that no one was hurt in the incident and that it will be removed/recovered tonight.
