Two 16000’s for TH Heavy

Malaysian offshore fabricator TH Heavy Engineering Berhad has recently taken delivery of two 400 tonne Manitowoc 16000 crawler cranes from Manitowoc distributor UES Group.

The new cranes will be based at the Pulau Indah fabrication yard in Salangor, Malaysia, and will be used for building offshore oil platforms. They will specifically assist with fabrication and out-load activities for legs, piles, decks, panels and other components that make up the platforms.

TH Heavy Engineering’s managing director Encik Nor Badli Mohd Alias said: “We are proud to own such high-quality cranes. The 16000’s will put us on both the Malaysian and world map, as we are now able to perform a wider range of heavy-lift projects efficiently. Manitowoc cranes are reliable, durable and versatile and using them, we have calculated, will help us cut RM1,500,000 ($470,000) annually from our operating costs – a nice boost to our bottom line.”
