Telehandler flips

A telescopic handler overturned on Wednesday in Bochum, Germany, while lifting and positioning a steel balcony onto the façade of an apartment block.

The telehandler went over sideways as it moved forward

From what we understand the operator raised the balcony to the desired height and then drove forward over a kerb onto grass causing a side loading that took the machine over.

The operator, 50, received minor injuries, while the telehandler, a Manitou may have some structural damage.

OH MY GOODNESS when will they ever learn! To move a machine with the load in the boom and fasteners, over changing terrain, increases risk and chances of mistakes and failure. What a shame this happened and thankfully no injuries occurred. But oh the cost of the mistake...someone has to pay for that...glad its not mine to pay. The probable cause is easy to see...lack of planning.
