Sany America launches 150 tonne crawler

Sany America has added a new crawler crane to its line-up with the 150 tonne SCC8150 filling the gap between the 100 tonne SCC8100 and the 200 tonne SCC8200.

The SCC8150 is rated at 4.9 metres and has a maximum main boom of 82 metres plus 31 metre fixed jib. Power is supplied by a 316 kW, Tier 4 interim Cummins engine although a 242 kW Tier 3 Cummins engine is also available.

Sany America has added a new crawler crane to its line-up with the 165 ton (150 tonne) SCC8150 filling the gap between the 110 ton SCC8100 and the 220 ton SCC8200.

The new crane uses a Rexroth hydraulic system including main pump, main valve and servo control. Independently driven drums include hydraulically powered planetary gears.

The improved UltraCab 2 has a larger glazed area for better visibility, air conditioning, and repositioned function screens and video monitors. Other features include a boom-elevation device, two externally mounted cameras to monitor machine operations, aircraft warning light on the main boom, and ‘shove-off’ protection that prevents the machine from working unless the operator is seated in the cab. Sany designs and manufactures the electrical and intelligence systems on the crane.

The unit has an overall length of 16.3 metres, is 13.5 metres wide and it is available with up to 73,898 kg of counterweight. Without track frames it weighs 45,000 kg for transport.

“The SCC8150 gives contractors a new option in a competitive segment of the market,” said Kyle Nape, senior vice president, Sany America Lifting Group. “Our new crane delivers a superior combination of control, performance, operator comfort, power and dependability that meets and exceeds the requirements for a machine in this weight class.”

The addition of the SCC8150 model means that Sany now offers five crawler cranes ranging from 100 to 500 tonnes.

“Including the new SCC8150, SANY has brought nine new models to this marketplace since 2010,” Nape said. “We’re demonstrating our commitment to the North American market through this impressive record of machine design, development and production.”
