2008 AC700 fetches €2.5m

Industrial equipment auctioneer Ritchie Bros has sold the Terex-Demag AC700 - its largest All Terrain crane ever at the auction in Ocaña/Moncofa, Spain.

The crane - which sold to a local buyer Gruas Ibisate for €2.5 million - was previously owned by Grúas Cambronero, of Ciudad Real in central Spain and was built in 2008. It was fully equipped with 60 metre main boom, 160 tonnes of counterweight, super-lift and 96 metre luffing jib. See Ritchie Bros to sell biggest crane ever

Ritchie also sold more 30 other All Terrain cranes, during the auction held last week.

Other crane sales included:
• A 2008 Faun ATF90G4 90 tonne AT crane that sold for €400,000
• A 2007 Faun ATF110G5 110 tonne AT crane that sold for €510,000
• A 2007 Faun ATF220G5 220 tonne AT crane that sold for €675,000
• Two 2007 Faun ATF65G4 65 tonne AT cranes that sold for €270,000 each
• A 2004 Liebherr LTM1045-3.1 45 tonne AT crane that sold for €180,000
• A 2005 Liebherr LTM1030-2.1 30 tonne AT crane that sold for €122,500

"We specialise in the rental of heavy-tonnage cranes and this was the opportunity to acquire quality cranes at fair market value," said Miguel Angel Ibisate, general manager of Gruas Ibisate SL, a Vitoria-Gasteiz-based crane rental company. "We have bought and sold equipment at previoius Ritchie Bros auctions and have always found this to be a channel that fits our needs to sell and realign our fleet or acquire new equipment - like today - when it is necessary."
