Warren celebrates 20 years

UK based rental company Warren Access celebrated its 20 year anniversary last month with an open day at its premise in Newcastle.

Back in 1993 following 35 years in the access industry Derek Warren first established Warren Access, which then only operated with just two van mounts. Today the company has a fleet of 24 aerial lifts and although Derek shows no signs of retiring – at a very respectable age of 73 – the company jokes that he now at least works part-time – five days a week 7.15 to 18.00!

The company invited customers past and present to attend the open day as well as its chosen charity Daft as a Brush which the company helped raise money for on the day with a raffle. It also took the opportunity to rebrand its business with new company logo and showcase its latest addition – its 33 metre Ruthmann T330.

Warren Access celebrated its 20 year anniversary with an open day

As well as launching the addition of the first scissor and boom lifts to its fleet the occasion also marked Derek’s 55th anniversary in the access industry.

Martin Warriner from Gateshead city council, said: “It’s well over 25 years since I first knew Derek and remember when he first founded Warren Access. I thought it was a very brave thing to do on his own. It’s been great to see how the business has grown over the years and that he and his son and daughter-in-law have made such a success of it. In all that time, I’ve never seen him annoyed at anything and he’s always made time for his customers and totally puts people at their ease. It’s amazing that at 73 he is still out there delivering machines. Despite being “the boss”, he’s always been approachable and he always makes time for his customers no matter how busy he is.”
