A lucky escape

A self-erecting tower crane went over in the small town of Hohr, Germany narrowly missing a house earlier this week.

The mid-range self-erector, either owned or contracted by construction company Overath, was working on a construction site just outside of Siegburg when it over turned. Fortunately no one was injured in the incident and the only damage the house sustained was a small section of guttering. The garden was less lucky however as many trees, bushes, flowers and a large section of the fence was destroyed by the falling jib.

It is thought the poor ground conditions under the crane caused it to overturn.
