The bus lane will protect

Spotted around 10:30 am in Belfast, Northern Ireland, almost two weeks ago, a 17 metre trailer lift working in the road with no attempt to warn any passing traffic of its outriggers or possible tail swing. Perhaps our man thought that the fact he was in a bus lane would protect him?

10:30 on a quiet Sunday in Belfast - no cones, no pedestrian warning or barriers

At the same time no attempt to warn anyone passing below that work is going on above. And finally although this Nifty T170 has a relatively low overall weight it would have been sensible to have placed outrigger mats/spreader plates under the feet.
