New Maeda spider crane

Kranlyft, the European master distributor for Maeda mini cranes, has unveiled details of an all-new spider crane with articulated boom/jib that can be seen at Bauma.

The new model MK1033C has three section 'main' boom plus a three section articulated jib or top boom giving good ‘up and over’ capability. The company says that it will make it easier to install glass in windows frames, lifting over pipes in narrow spaces and placing window units on top of roofs.

Maximum lift capacity is just under a tonne, while maximum lift height is nearly 11.5 metres and maximum working radius nearly 10 metres.

Like the rest of the Maeda MC range the MK1033C is - just 750mm wide and less than two metres high - compact enough to fit through a standard doorway. The overall length will be less than 2.8 metres and it will weigh less than two tonnes, in order to fit in construction elevators.

The crane has multi outrigger positions – with each outrigger able to be placed in seven different horizontal positions and six different lengths. Whatever the position the crane will automatically calculate the maximum lift for each configuration.

The basic model has a diesel engine and a fixed hook on the end of the boom, beneficial when working in confined spaces. An optional winch is also available as well as petrol, petrol/LPG or a 380-400 volt electric motor power options.

The MK1033C is also equipped with a completely new 'read-out' display which shows outrigger and boom positions as well as service information and even the quick operation guide. The new multi-joystick radio remote control is also standard.
