The Multitel MJ 210 is a conventional forward mounted telescopic platform with a telescopic articulated jib - an unusual feature in this size of machine.

It offers up to 12.6 metres of outreach and an impressive working envelope for a 3.5 tonne chassis. Platform capacity is 225kg and the platform includes a full 180 degrees of rotation. Rear outriggers are fixed inboard, while the H-frame front outriggers can either be used straight down, or extended on one side only or on both sides. With all four outriggers set up within the vehicle width, outreach is 10.35 metres over the side, with full outreach over the rear.

The company says that further MJ201 units will be delivered to UK end users and other rental companies over the next three to six weeks.

Melvyn Else, managing director of Access Industries, Multitel’s UK distributor, said: “I can honestly say that in the short demonstration tour we made at the end of last year everyone who saw the platform was impressed, even if they didn’t place and order. The first demonstration on the tour was at Orion Access and they immediately placed an order so this is the first unit to be delivered in the UK.”

Rob Cross operations manager of Orion Access added: “Sometimes you see a new platform and immediately you can see where it fits into your fleet and which customers will want to hire it when they see it. For us the Multitel MJ 201 fell into that category and that’s why we had no hesitation in placing an order.”

The platform sub-frame on the MJ201 is aluminium alloy helping keep down the machine’s overall weight and is similar to the light alloy sub-frames used on other Multitel models, such as the MX210 and MX250. Multitel says that at Bauma it will introduce another new machine using this type of sub-frame.
