Hewden adds to management team

UK crane, access and telehandler rental company Hewden has strengthened it management team with the appointment of Antony Steele and Stephen Smith to help develop its graduate scheme and support its national and industrial accounts.

Steele, previously commercial manager for Toyota’s material handling division, has been appointed head of the national account sales executive team which currently consists of 17 graduates who support the company’s national account sales managers as well as helping develop relationships with local site managers, acting as the first point of contact for equipment requirements. Steele’s responsibilities will include providing the necessary guidance and support to ensure all graduates successfully pass through the scheme.

Antony Steele


Smith joins the company as head of industrial sales having previously held the position of general manger for control valve manufacturer Severn Unival. His responsibilities include supporting Hewden’s existing client base in the refining, petrochemical and heavy manufacturing industries as well as looking for new opportunities in other sectors. He will head a team of 11 people, including three national account sales executives, who will support the industrial account managers in providing the necessary planning, resourcing and safety requirements on the more challenging contracts.
