New CEO for Teupen

German spider and truck mounted lift manufacturer Teupen has appointed Michael Scheuss as chief executive.

Scheuss, 50, stepped into his new role as of this week. he joins Michael Wotschke at the head of the company. The two will split the key management roles with Wotschke responsible for driving the international sales and marketing efforts while Scheuss will lead the business with responsibility for innovation, overseeing the supply chain, production and logistics process as well as research and development and after-Sales-Services.

Michael Scheuss


Scheuss comes from Cologne and is a mechanical and design engineer by training, and has held various management roles over the past 20 years. He began his career in 1989 as design engineer for vacuum technology at Leybold, where he gained his first management experience and eventually took over the company’s after sales and service organisation in Japan. He returned from Japan as director of Leybold’s product support department in Germany.

In 1998 he joined plant engineering manufacturer Deutsche Mechatronics, and was promoted to head of production in 2001 and chief executive in 2004.

In 2008 he moved to engine and drive specialist Baumüller Nürnberg as chief executive. In 2010 he took charge of technical management of the group focusing on the launch and introduction of new manufacturing technologies.
